Living Large

I thought I should probably post some pics because I have grown so much since we left Utah. Not spiritually or emotionally but PHYSICALLY. Check out the belly! According to babycenter who sends me these emails every week. Lucy is about 3 pounds and the size of a loaf of bread, so I'm walking around with a loaf of bread in my stomach that kicks me all the time. Good stuff. I don't know if its the hormones or being home all day or what, but suddenly I am having constant urges to do something crafty, for me that is bizarre. I am this close to subscribing to Martha Stewart Living and instead of TIVOing the Hills I have been watching 30 minute meals with Rachel Ray, ok that's a lie, I have been recording and watching both. (What is up with that Justin Bobby guy?!) But cooking shows! I even want to learn how to sew- I can't believe I just admitted that. Its like all my mom's dreams for me are coming true.

Everything continues to go well in Columbus. Trent has his first test today, so we have our fingers crossed. I know he will do well, I am excited for him to get one over with so he can be more confident in himself - he has been working really hard. Hope everyone at home is doing well, we love you and miss you all!

An Important Milestone...

I have reached an important milestone in my life - I have my first crush on someone who is YOUNGER than me! It had to happen sometime... UPDATE ... I just realized that Trent is younger than me, and I definitely have a crush on Trent, so let me say this milestone is having a crush on someone SIGNIFICANTLY younger!

She is Getting Big

We went to our new doctor in Columbus yesterday. He was really nice, I liked him a lot. He told us we didn't need an ultrasound if we didn't want to pay for it - and we obviously didn't want to pay for it! But then he said well, I'm required to check the heartbeat so don't tell anyone that I'm going to use this 50,000 dollar machine to do it! So we saw Lucy yesterday and she is looking so big, I can't believe it. It seems like yesterday that Taylor was calling her a jumbo shrimp. Only 12 weeks to go! Here is her cute picture.

2 weeks!

Yesterday I realized that I had been in Columbus for 2 weeks. We are missing everyone at home so much, but it is already starting to feel like we belong here - especially since we discovered 40 cent wings every Tuesday night at Buffalo Bill's... I am committed to being a regular, just because being a regular of anything is fun. It is a really good feeling to know that you made the right decision and are in the right place. It has also been a great thing for us to get out of our comfort zone, have new experiences and make new friends even though it isn't easy!

Trent has already found a biking buddy, now I just need to find someone with a Zac Efron crush to watch High School Musical 2 with me on Friday or else I will need to be on speakerphone with Sara and Em. I went to lunch with a girl from our ward, tried to get to Panera, took two freeways and ended up in Hilliard by Walmart (right down the street from our house!) Whoops.

Matt had his surgery yesterday (on his birthday!) and all went well, they know that the tumor wasn't cancer but they are not sure what it is, we will find out when he goes to the doctor on Monday. Here are some pics from last night for my mom's sake. Not much of a party, but we are going to have a BBQ on Saturday to make up for it when Matt is a little more with it!

White Coat Ceremony

Here are some pics of Trent looking good in the white coat after the ceremony. I think he looks like a pretty cute pharmacist. . .

Nursery HELP!

So I had my little heart set on doing that cool beadboard up most of the wall in Lucy's nursery just like in all of the Pottery Barn catalogs, until I found out from Home Depot's website that it costs $100 for an 8 foot panel. $100, for only 8 ft of the wall! And I also remembered that we are poor. So maybe kid #3 will get some beadboard and the fabulous crib from Babinskis, but Lucy is going to have to do without. Anyway, getting to the point. I am not sure what I should do with the walls now, we want to paint before we get new carpet so that gives us about 3 weeks. The pics below show you the hideousness that the room is now. We had to take down a diva/princess border that gave me hives it was so ugly. Our crib & furniture is going to be a dark, dark brown (espresso) and her bedding is green/brown and pink. I don't really want to paint pink though. You can see in the pics too that there is like a small chair rail that goes through the middle of the room & the baseboards & doors are wood. I swear the hardest thing about being here so far is not being able to ask opinions on paint color, and the fact that Trent is colorblind isn't helping out much. So please all of my friends with fabulous taste, throw me some ideas... Thanks!

Home Sweet Home

We haven't been here a full week yet, but we have already transformed the house! When I say we I mean Trent and Geri, I had to work so I wasn't much help. They painted the garage door, shutters and front door and we love how it turned out. It is starting to feel a little more like home now that we are all unpacked, and now that I found out that the So you Think you can Dance tour comes through Columbus on Oct 30. I was feeling a little lonely but felt much better after church today. Everyone was SO nice and friendly and we met a few people that are starting med school this week as well. It's nice trying to make friends with people who are just as desperate for friends as you are!!! Working from home has been nice, but I'm not used to being home all day, or at night for that matter. I'm going to have to find a lunch buddy or something or I could go crazy. Anyway, we miss everyone already and here are a few pics of the house, we still need to hang most of our stuff, but it is really coming together!
