New Moon Midnight Madness

Yeah that's the back - looking good..

Complete insanity. That's the only way I can describe the 12:01 showing of New Moon. What a riot. I decided to make a Team Jacob shirt the night before when Trent was on call and it was hilarious, I even had teenagers mocking me. I'm glad my husband doesn't mind me walking around with a six pack of abs on the back of my shirt. There was security guards ensuring that all the hooligan fans were kept in line and it was a good movie with even better company. (Jen and Kendall I need your pictures!!) Can't wait for Eclipse.

Last Birthday Post - I promise!

We didn't have anything huge planned on Lucy's actual birthday, so we just did her favorite things all day long.. breakfast while watching Dora & Boots, a trip to a fun park and the library, lunch at Chick fil a, a "daddy baba" all to herself, homemade pizza for dinner, movie night with Finding Nemo and popcorn, and reading book after book and then jumping on Mommy's bed.. It was a great day!

TWO A PARTY!

When you ask Lucy how old she is you will get one of two answers..

#1 - Five (to which I say, no two, and she says no mommy, FIVE! I pick my battles)
#2 - TWO A PARTY!! Said altogether as one exciting phrase..

She had so much fun at her Elmo parties that she associates them with her new age of 2... I love it. She had a great time and so did we. We gave her a Fisher Price Little People nativity, and her new favorite toy is Baby Jesus. Baby Jesus gets called on her cell phone, taken into cribs for naps and blessed in prayers.. (hello Talledega Nights.) Hmmm. I am loving this age, I feel like I should walk around with a notebook so I can write down everything that comes out of this little girl's mouth. Today it was, be careful Mommy, be careful! (after I almost slipped).. I was dying! Anyway if you couldn't tell we love our little girl quite a bit. Happy Birthday Lucy!

Wrapping Up Halloween..

Here is the breakdown on Trick-or-Treating.. Direct quote from Trent - "This was one of the best nights of my life".....

I remember Trent's brother Jeff saying the exact same thing when he took Macy out when she was about Lucy's age! Anyway she loved it. We practiced trick or treating at a Halloween play group at our house that morning, so she had it down by the time they headed out. They were gone for over an hour! Trent said that she would knock on the door - say Trick or Treat, Thank you and then book it down the driveway saying.. More Candy, more candy! Maybe this one? and point at the next house. She also had a ton of candy but would NOT let Trent touch her bucket. It was off limits and she carried it full of candy herself the entire time.

Our one successful picture with the hood on.

Mom leave me alone!

Maybe this one??

This was a girl on a mission!

When they got back to the house, she spent the rest of the night trying to put her candy into the trick or treater's buckets that came to our house. What a fun night. We now have a candy addict at our house (well 2 candy addicts, like mother like daughter) so that's been a blast to deal with!

Enjoying the Fall

I'm playing catchup on the blog again - here are some of the fun fall activities we have done over the past few months. Fall is my favorite time of year in Ohio, there is so much to do!
We enjoyed ourselves at a pumpkin patch...

Corn maze to the pumpkins..

Lucy would go around knocking on pumpkins and asking them if they were ripe. (Thanks to Ryan) She would try to pick them up and tell me "Too Heavy Mommy" in a low, straining voice. She also told me she wanted a baby pumpkin - so that is what we got :)

Mooing at the cow

Of course we also had to trek it down to Circleville for the Annual Pumpkin Show.. This year I topped my record and ate 6 donuts in one day. Just ridiculous how good these pumpkin donuts are. I went to spinning the next morning and probably worked off 2 of those puppies. Anyway it was a great time with great friends. Lucy tried her first kiddie ride. I was a wreck, sweating, so nervous. I did NOT trust that kiddie ferris wheel ride operator so I double checked the seatbelt and bar myself. LOL. Anyway - I wonder if she liked it?

Yep I think so.

Trent only managed to take one picture on the daddy-daughter date to the OSU game, but I love it! We also went to Boo at the Zoo, but we were too busy playing to take pictures.
I'm on a blogging marathon tonight - more to come!

Dear Lucy,

Happy Birthday! I'm not sure why I have been so emotional about you turning two, other than the obvious fact that my little baby is growing up. I want you to know how much your parents love you. I want you to know that when you walked up to me this morning and asked me to erase (take off) your jammies I wondered for a minute what I possibly could have done right in this life or before in order to deserve the chance to be your mom. I love your spunky personality, cute little voice and sassy attitude. Before I had you truthfully I don't think I really understood much of anything, thank you for teaching me. I love you.

Love,
Mom

Halloween WEEK!

Is it just me or do Halloween activities stretch out more every year? Now its like a week long (or more!) celebration.. Not that I'm complaining, it helps me get my moneys worth out of Lucy's costume that's for sure.

We had our first Halloween Party last Friday night and it was so much fun. Lucy is Elmo this year, Trent is Elmo's Daddy and I well.. I am an 80's aerobic instructor. Sadly didn't have to make one purchase to pull this costume off. Nice family theme huh? Apparently Elmo's Daddy is a single father. Anyway, here are some pictures of us before we left. Lucy won't wear her hood so there is a lesson learned. At least she'll wear the slippers. Tonight is Beggar's Night here in Columbus, which is when they do the trick or treating, We can't wait, Lucy's has got Trick or Treat down! We've been practicing...
