Dear Lucy,

Happy Birthday! I'm not sure why I have been so emotional about you turning two, other than the obvious fact that my little baby is growing up. I want you to know how much your parents love you. I want you to know that when you walked up to me this morning and asked me to erase (take off) your jammies I wondered for a minute what I possibly could have done right in this life or before in order to deserve the chance to be your mom. I love your spunky personality, cute little voice and sassy attitude. Before I had you truthfully I don't think I really understood much of anything, thank you for teaching me. I love you.

Love,
Mom

Halloween WEEK!

Is it just me or do Halloween activities stretch out more every year? Now its like a week long (or more!) celebration.. Not that I'm complaining, it helps me get my moneys worth out of Lucy's costume that's for sure.

We had our first Halloween Party last Friday night and it was so much fun. Lucy is Elmo this year, Trent is Elmo's Daddy and I well.. I am an 80's aerobic instructor. Sadly didn't have to make one purchase to pull this costume off. Nice family theme huh? Apparently Elmo's Daddy is a single father. Anyway, here are some pictures of us before we left. Lucy won't wear her hood so there is a lesson learned. At least she'll wear the slippers. Tonight is Beggar's Night here in Columbus, which is when they do the trick or treating, We can't wait, Lucy's has got Trick or Treat down! We've been practicing...

GO BUCKEYES!

Lucy asks me every single day if she can watch "the Buckeyes on Daddy's show". We tried to sell our tickets for the game today and when we couldn't it was our (MY) brilliant idea to have Trent take Lulu to the game because she is a big fan right? :) She lasted till about halftime, but she said GO BUCKEYES a lot and made a ton of friends! What a fun daddy daughter date, and what a fun Saturday for me!

The only way Lucy will smile in a picture is if I sing... if you're happy and you know it THEN YOUR FACE WILL SURELY SHOW IT! And these two pics are pretty much the best facials I can get out of her..

Prayers..

Lucy inserted her own thoughts into her bedtime prayer tonight for the first time instead of just repeating what I say.. She made sure to mention binky, bubbles, family and Jesus. Sounds about right to me.

San Antonio - Boots, Nachos and Shamu.

Today is the day where I catch up on all my posts that have been written in my head but never actually made it onto the blog.. Buckle up!

Labor Day weekend we went out to San Antonio to visit Jason & Nicole and their darling kids who we haven't seen forever. It was such a fun weekend just being able to relax and enjoy each other's company. Lets face facts, any trip where Trent is supportive of me getting a new pair of boots is a smashing success in my book. :) Can't wait to see you again at Christmas..

The Alamo.
The Riverwalk.

I'm surprised I didn't have a heart attack after eating my share of these RIDICULOUSLY good nachos. Look how excited I am.

Lucy started drinking the salsa it was so good. Literally drinking it.

Bottoms up!

The boot store.

I think this might have been the best day of Cole's life.

Sea World - Lucy loved it!

Lucy's First Movie

A month or so ago we took Lucy to see her first movie.. To be on the safe side we hit the dollar theater and found that on Monday nights if you have 3 or more people, its only 50 cents each.. Awesome. So we were willing to risk $1.50 to see if Lucy would like the movie UP. And she LOVED it. The whole time she was just yelling out the things that were on the screen. Balloon, Papa, Clock, Doggie - woof, woof. It was so funny. I'm not sure what she liked more, the movie or the popcorn. The big screen rocked her world. It was one of the funnest things we had done in a long time. I love having Lucy remind me of the simple pleasures in life, like a matinee dollar movie. We went with our good friends and their cute little boy and Lucy just took turns saying such hilarious things, all in all it was pure entertainment.

I can't ever get her to look at the camera - she is so annoyed with me.

Engrossed in the action.. why is the theater empty? We got there late so we had to take these action shots after the movie was already over. :)

The arcade games could have been a bigger hit than the actual movie.. especially skee ball.

I Love Lucy

Our daughter is pure entertainment.. Here are a few of the highlights from this past week that we need to remember and the blog has got to be the place considering I haven't written in a journal since I was 12.

1. Me: Lucy you are funny
Lucy: No mommy, I hilarious...
Me: No you are funny.
Lucy yelling: NO I HILARIOUS!
Me: OK, OK you're hilarious.
Lucy: YEA!

2. Lucy: This is my faaaaaaavorite (when presented with Spagettio's) followed by YUM,
DELICIOUS! after every single bite.

3. Me: Lucy who is coming to visit you for Thanksgiving.
Lucy: Silence.. Tay Tay, Dora and Bootsy Bootsy Boots.

4. Me singing: What's Gonna Work? (wonderpets theme song)
Lucy yelling: PEE POOP! (instead of teamwork) then dying with laughter at her own joke. She also yells Pee Poop when I try to get her to say her ABC's. A, B, PEE POOP. Potty mouth at 23 months.. pretty good.

5. Her forced fake laugh sounds like an 80 year old man... She calls her new cousin Camila Baby Bobo.

6. At testimony meeting on Sunday after each person said Amen she yelled Nursery, yahoo! Because she thought the meeting was over. She also clapped and cheered when her favorite nursery leader Ryan was finished giving the closing prayer. I think he was touched by her enthusiasm :)

7. Her favorite books are - I love you Stinkyface, No No Baby, and Go Dog Go.

8. Grabbing something from my room and coming back to find this exactly five seconds later..

8. Getting something out of the car and coming back to find this exactly ten seconds later..

9. A Diet Coke is now a mommy baba, A Coke Zero is a daddy baba. Girl knows her stuff.

10. I knew she could count to ten but this week I randomly forgot to stop counting and I said 11, 12 and she goes 13.... What?? I had no idea she knew numbers higher than 10.

Weeks like this make me feel like the luckiest person on the planet.
