Before I Forget - Beyonce - Lucy style

(Lucy posing by the wall in the woods behind my parent's house that she "tagged" with my mom while I was out of town..she's very proud)

We spent the weekend with our little fam down in St. George, it was a nice break to spend time together without feeling like we had a million things to do.. Lucy was in rare form.. Here is a Lucyism I don't want to forget...

Out of nowhere eating dinner at Cafe Rio:
Lucy suddenly singing to the tune of Single Ladies:  I'm a single mother, I'm a single mother, I'm a single mother, I'm a single mother.
Me: Dying of laughter - WHAT?? Luce do you mean all the single ladies?
Lucy: No Mom, that is not how it goes.. it goes like this.. I'm a single mother, I'm a single mother.

I think Beyonce would be loving that.

Long time no Blog

I'm not sure why I have lost the motivation to blog but I need to get myself together and power through. Eventually I'll go back and blog the summer and fall but this morning I just want to give an update on this crew..

Ruby Jane: Rubes turned nine months this past week. 9 MONTHS! A PREGNANCY! Can't believe it and honestly cannot believe how hilarious this little girlie is. I was a little worried about whether she could handle Lucy and straight up - she is sassier and wilder if you can even imagine. Her nicknames include... ahem... Ninja Baby and Wild Baby. Along with Rubes and Tuesday. Ninja baby because she gets in and out of crawling position by doing the full on SPLITS every single time. I swear she is double jointed.  She started crawling while Trent and I were at our first movie in MONTHS. I get this text from my sister, does Ruby crawl? I was like not yet but almost... Emily texts back... Oh... Me... is she crawling???!!! Emily... sort of!
Of course Rubes would start to crawl when I dare leave her for a couple of hours.

As for the Wild Baby... When we yell Wild Baby ATTACK. She instantly lunges and tries to eat the closest thing next to her, whether that is a toy, hand, Lucy's hair, my nose.. it is hysterical. We have our very own protector to save us all. She LOVES to eat, and I'm already planning on a "feast" theme for her first birthday. I'm just going to give her a turkey leg or something, seriously. I gave her a tiny piece of chocolate yesterday and she grinned and squealed for five minutes. Wonder where she gets that love of food from... I have no idea. Had her 9 month checkup this week and she is slimming down to the 65% in weight, 38% in height and whopping 94% in head size (you can thank your dad for that Tues). Lucy loves her so much and we love seeing that smile that lights up the room all day long. Along with those grunts. I just can't write enough about how much love, joy and happiness this little thing brings into the life of our little family, extended family and everyone who meets her. She is a special little bug and I am proud to be her mom.

Lucy Elizabeth: Where do I start? Lucy is 4 (turned 4 last week!) going on 14. She absolutely loves music and is constantly stealing my IPOD to find songs she likes, from Carrie Underwood to Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, random punk songs. It is so funny. When we ride in the car she loves to listen to the radio and is always yelling at me to turn it up. When she hears a song she knows, for example, like Dynamite.. She gasps as loud as possible with her mouth hanging open. then yells DO I KNOW THIS SONG????? YEAH I DO. This happens for every song that comes on that she knows, which is quite a few. She even told me she wanted to be Justin Bieber for Halloween, I stuck with Sleeping Beauty. I'm torn between being horrified by all of this, and really impressed. She obviously loves music I just need to try harder to cultivate that into quality music instead of Ke$ha.  The other day Super Bass was playing on the radio, and she goes, hey mom isn't this Vicki Massage? (instead of Nicki Manaj) I was like um actually yes it is. I don't have that song on my Ipod and I have no clue how she knows who Vicki Massage is. Scares me! She also has a song for Ruby that she likes to sing/yell at her... RUBOOS, STIIIINKING BOOOOOOOS! Makes no sense, but has to be documented.

Lucy also started preschool two days a week and is loving it. She also LOVES her dance class. She had her first primary program a few weeks ago and it was hysterical. She had her part memorized for weeks and would recite it constantly.. in the middle of breakfast, while going to the bathroom. I would just hear her yelling her part. On the day of the program, she goes MOM I'm going to say my part LOUD and CLEAR. I was like go for it! Well she was definitely the LOUDEST of the day, and it was hilarious, she is the youngest in the entire primary and she marched right up there and YELLED into the microphone, I FEEL HAPPY WHEN MY PARENTS AND TEACHERS READ ME THE SCRIPTURES. Man I love this little girl. She is smart, sweet and spunky. Just the way we like em.

Trent: works a lot, tries to go biking and when he can't bike, he buys part for his bike. We are almost 1/2 way through intern year right? Thank goodness.

Jamie: I feel like I'm writing a Christmas card update right now. I think it has to be done to break this blogging hiatus and get back to being a once a weeker. Also I'm sure no one is still reading this novel so it doesn't really matter anyway... Things are going well, we love being close to family and best friends here but I really miss my friends from Ohio, you know who you are :) I've been working a lot and traveling more than usual but that has meant being able to do a few things in the past couple of months that I have always dreamed about doing. I went to Fashion Week in New York and saw two runway shows and filmed YouTube videos with Kandee Johnson the beauty blogger. My heart stopped at the first show I may have almost stopped breathing a bit. You should have seen the fabulous outfits, shoes and bags I saw. It put me over the edge! I love how people in New York dress to express themselves, they are very fashion-forward but no one looks the same.  I went to Fashion's Night Out saw Naomi Campbell, Drake and the back of the Bieber's hat. I was searching for Marc Jacobs and Tim Gunn but no such luck, maybe next time. I went back to NYC a couple of months later when we hosted a PR event. I met editors from In Style, Lucky, Allure, People, and more.. The fashion editor from People Magazine, not the assistant, the editor - was 22 years old. I almost died. Anyway that night we hosted a party for the top beauty bloggers, and that was very awesome as well. Then we went over to the Cosmo's 50 hottest bachelors party, where I just happened to smack into the guy from Utah who is a MANAGER of Hollister.. My response - of course you are! Other than that I am just loving being a mom of two hilarious girlies, drinking Diet Coke and trying to figure out how on earth anyone ever has 3 kids???

It's official - The BLOG IS BACK!

Lucy's Birthday Party!

Lucy wanted a princess party this year and it was so fun doing it for her. As a surprise Rapunzel came and it was a riot to see the kids faces when she walked in. They were either really skeptical or in awe - mostly in awe! My little nephew Owen even tried to get a little action! Lucy loved her party and I'm glad we are only doing them every other year :) My mom made the adorable Rapunzel wigs for the favor - and they absolutely stole the show. Thanks mom!

 Tangled races!

 Rapunzel stopped by to play!

Whispering to the birthday girl... she told her all her wishes could come true. Lucy then told me she was going to wish Rapunzel could come over every day.. backfire!

Lucy's Birthday

Our little baby is 4! Wow, she is so grown up and smart. Trent and I say all the time that of course we are wildly biased, but man our little girl is special. She is sweet, kind, funny, wild, and seriously so stinking smart. My goal is just to try and be the  best mom possible so that she has the entire world at her fingers, because that is what she deserves. Having Lucy opened my heart and mind and changed everything about me in an instant. We love you Lucy - we are so lucky to be your mom and dad.

My mom always had a present at the foot of our bed so that we had a gift right when we woke up! I have continued this tradition with Lucy Loo.  Also - notice the cut off feet of her pajamas - she can't stand footies so we fix all her jammies up for her :)

A princess jack in the box! She's only been asking for one since she was 2 - I always thought she was kidding - nope!
Our grown up 4 year old.

Family photo! - We took her to Discovery Gateway and then had cake and ice cream at our house.
The cake - well I tried.
Presents! Cute 4 necklaces from Da!

Rubes was impressed.

The grand finale! A dollhouse!
Our big girl!
