Simply Had a Wonderful Christmas Time

Christmas 2008 is going to go down as one of the great ones. Lucy made Xmas about one million times more fun. We had a great time playing Santa and she loved her presents, especially the little chair from Costco that I could not resist. I'm still trying to figure out how to get that sucker to Columbus, but it was totally worth any shipping pains to watch her spend the whole morning sitting in that thing! We spent Christmas Eve and morning with my family and then headed down to Jeff & Erin's for Christmas Day with the Richards Clan..

Highlights..

New Pajamas with matching ones for the Goose - (p.s. Kendall if you read this Lucy is obsessed with doing the "elephant" that you taught her - yeah it's all she does as you can see in the pics.)
The Chair - confession: I was so excited for Lucy to see the chair I couldn't sleep on Christmas Eve. I actually WOKE her up at 7:30 because I couldn't take it anymore, that would explain why she looks so out of it in the pics. I am ridiculous.
Trent finally getting surprised by a present - not an easy task.

My mom getting a new set of Billy Blanks DVD's so that she now officially owns every Billy Blanks product ever made.. and also getting a necklace made out of wisdom teeth. Don't ask, but talk to Taylor if you have to know.

The Richards - minus Doug & Geri in Cambodia and Jason & Nicole in Texas - missed you guys! We ate, we laughed, we karaoked, a wonderful Christmas combo.

Of course the best part of Christmas is spending time with the people you love and remembering the life of our Savior. Christmas always has me reflecting on how blessed I am and reminding myself where all of those blessings come from. Hope you all had a great one.

The Snaggletooth Toddler

I'm a little behind on my blogging, but lets just say the Goose had a big week. We flew to Utah for Christmas a mere 7 days ago and in that short time span our little bug is WALKING.. and she finally cut another tooth - bringing her grand total to 3.. Her two front bottom teeth and ONE of the pointy teeth, so basically my baby has a snaggletooth. Honestly this is why being a mom is so great, in just one short week our little Luce transformed from the tripod-crawling-late-teether to the Snaggletoothed Toddler. We couldn't possibly be prouder. GO LUCY!

I don't think Lucy wants anything from Santa

This is as close as she would get, she had a major meltdown. At least we found out at the Ward Party before we dropped some cash at the mall!

These next few pictures are a nice little visual of my last post

The aftermath of a typical breakfast.. she's so proud of herself.
Washing out the syrup

Back to looking cute again - at least until lunchtime.

Typical Week

Lucy is going through this really fun stage where everytime she eats anything (meal or a snack) she rubs the food in her hair - and I am talking RUBS it into her hair to the point where I have to wash it. Seriously every day I am bathing her two to three times. For example today I have washed the following out of her hair - banana, waffle w/syrup, goldfish crumbs, Nutrigrain bar filling, Mac & Cheese, peas and rice. She refuses to let me feed her anything anymore so I guess for the next little while she is going to be insanely clean.

I have been trying to teach myself Photoshop to make a Christmas Card and I stayed up really late one night this week messing around with it. Trent had gone to bed a few hours earlier so I was trying to be so quiet when I finally climbed into bed. It was completely dark and I grabbed the covers and then went to lie down and totally missed the bed. I fell so hard that I ripped all the sheets and covers off of the bed and I was laying on my stomach on the floor covered in our sheets, comforter and quilt. I started laughing so hard I was crying. Trent was not happy about being woken up - and then I got mad that he didn't think it was funny. So I told him he sucked and never thought anything was funny and we both went to sleep a little mad. I think its the most hilarious fight we have ever had. The next day we tried to figure out how I had managed the fall and we still have absolutely no idea. Sigh. Classic.

Oh and Janae, I know you have my name for Christmas and literally all I want is for you to use those skills you picked up from Mia Michaels and learn the Beyonce Single Ladies dance and teach it to me. Thanks.

I have to post a couple more family pics because I LOVE THEM. Lucy looks so innocent, and it cracks me up because she is anything but.

Seriously Great Weekend

Thursday -To kick the killer weekend off I went with a huge group of girls to see the midnight showing of Twilight . I was dead serious about getting a good seat so I made everyone show up at 10:00... Apparently Columbus Edward fans aren't nearly as intense as the ones in Utah and there was NO one else there. So we started the line and played cards for two hours before they let us into the theater. We go running into the theater (by then there was a line) and get our awesome seats, but we totally could have showed up at 11:45 and been totally fine. It was hilarious and we had a great GNO, so I wouldn't have had it any other way. Sorry to all you haters out there but I LOVED the movie, in fact, it made me like the book more. I really liked Edward. a lot. And I feel lucky to have such great friends here, they are so great and make it easy be happy in Ohio. - I think I had so much fun because I was out until 3 a.m. and felt like a rebel. Plus I drank an energy drink so I could stay awake so I was a little out of control.

Friday - Thanks to a genius invention called a babysitting group I actually went out to dinner with my husband ALONE. It was so nice, We hadn't been out on our own since June I think and it was such a relaxing night without trying to keep Lucy in line. I ate good Chinese food, I went to Forever 21, sigh that is a dream date in my book.

Saturday - Utah KILLED BYU. So I had (still have) a very happy husband.

Lesson Learned

So today I decided to visit a gym to see how much they would charge me for a membership.. I had Lucy in one arm and was trying to wrestle her stroller out of the trunk with the other - that wasn't happening so I put her in the back seat and shut the door so I could get her stroller out with both hands.. NOT noticing that when I was preoccupied with the stroller she had grabbed my keys out of my coat pocket.

Right when I manage to pull the stroller out and slam the trunk door down I hear a beep, beep, beep. DON'T WORRY - my 12 month old daughter LOCKED ME OUT OF THE CAR.

There I am in the parking lot literally dying tapping on the window hoping she will hit the unlock button, she is in there laughing and tapping back at me while I am freaking out.

Five minutes later I'm about to call Trent and tell him what an idiot I am when I hear a single beep - I was on the passenger side and I book it over to the driver's side (one beep only unlocks one door) and barely managed to fling the driver's side door open before she locks it again.

I AM A MORON. Note to self - make sure Lucy NEVER has the keys while in the car unless at least ONE door is open.

What a piece of work.

Mikey and Goose

My question - why does she refuse to wear hats but will
wear pajama bottoms on her head for hours?

My little brother was nice enough to come into town for the weekend and it was a blast. Luckily we have the same interests - shopping and eating - so he is not hard to entertain! I realize he just came to see Luce, she loves him and they had a great time playing together. Love ya Mikey thanks for coming.

Her favorite book - every single animal is a doggie or a ducky

Lucy is already my mini-me - She loves to "drink" out of a can and talk on the phone. It's a little scary how much they pick up on, don't you think? She even went so far as to get a few cans out of the garbage, stick a straw in them and have some fun. Killing me!

1 ONE 1

Lucy Loo had her first birthday last Sunday and it was one of the best days of my life. She is such a little sass and has so much spunk. We had a great time celebrating her big day - I was so lucky to have my parents in town to enjoy it with us. I feel blessed every day to be her mom. She has this cheesy little smirky grin that just cracks me up. She isn't walking yet - but I am perfectly content to enjoy her wacky crawl for a little longer - if you haven't seen it she drags her left leg and scoots on her bum, not sure if that makes sense, anyway its funny. She had a caterpillar cake that we had a blast making and I love the decorations I made so mucy that I haven't taken them down! We had a family party on Saturday and a get together with friends on Sunday because such a big event deserves more than one celebration! Hope all her birthdays are just as fun. Warning - I took so many pics you will feel like you were there! Thanks to everyone for making it so special for us. We are lucky to have such an amazing support system of family and good friends.

These next few pics are of me dying laughing trying to stop Lucy from attacking me -
she was sick of pictures at this point.
She loves her new kitchen - Thanks Mom & Dad
Testing out the new toy
Ready to DIG IN
Her first date - smart enough to bring a gift!
