Happy 50th Mom

Today is my gorgeous mother's 50th birthday.. and since I can't be there to help her celebrate turning HALF of a century.. I am going to write ten of my favorite things about my mom.
10. She automatically makes any occasion more fun just by being there. This includes any activity from exercising to movie night to a baptism. Just with her mere presence I know I will have a great time.
9. She is incredibly talented at everything she does. Gourmet cook, amazing seamstress, out of this world baby hat and headband maker :)
8. She never puts herself first and is ALWAYS thinking of others. (Mom, you really do need to do things for yourself more often)
7. She loves her family and friends with her whole heart and thinks we can do anything.
6. How she finds it physically impossible to buy clothes that fit.
5. Her chicken roll-ups, homemade rolls, sugar cookies, heath bar cake, and that spinach mushroom salad. I would eat at my house over a restaurant any day of the week. Oh and how she always makes birthdays and holidays so special.
4. How she tries to cover her sarcastic comments by pretending to be so innocent...
3. How hard she laughs at her own jokes.. (its genetic)
2. The way she shows the world what kind of person she is with her actions, not just words.
1. She is my best friend.
I have told her before and I will say it again and again, if I can be half of the mother to my children that my mom is to hers I will consider myself an incredibly huge success. It is my life goal to be as hilarious as my mother.

Mom, I love you. Happy 50th. I hope Dad isn't making you bake your own cake.

Matt's wedding last year

The day she finally came home from being the mission mom in Mexico City - pretty much the third or fourth greatest day of my life. Shoot my hair is cute in this picture. Maybe I should cut it again.

After we finished the St.George marathon together and then were sick as dogs for the next 12 hours.
We recuperated with a Desperate Housewives marathon from our twin recliners.
Lucy has no idea how lucky she is that this hot lady is her grandma, but she is starting to figure it out.

I dido Elisa's comment - and add the obvious fact that your mom is beautiful - and from your comments - beautiful inside and out! No wonder you have so many amazing qualities! I think the hardest part about living so far away from home is being so far from my mom...

And I had no idea that you ran a marathon! My heck, that's amazing. Are you going to run another?!

oh man. I can't believe your mom is 50... She will forever look young and hot in my mind. I can't rave enough about your moms cooking skills either... I could go on and on about my favorites. But i think the sugar cookies are my favorite. I laughed out loud at your list. Your mom always has made me feel like I was part of the family. I am so lucky to have a best friend like you with such an amazing family that I care about so much! I hope your Mom has the best birthday. I know you wish you could be here... Oh soon

Happy Birthday Shauna! Your mom is the greatest! I wish I still worked in Farmington so I had an excuse to go see her and eat her amazing food for lunch! She is always so welcoming and makes you feel at home! I hope one day to be a tenth of the mother she is, and I would consider my self successful! And a tenth as darling! There is no way anyone is going to believe she is 50!

P.S. Whoever "poop" is your comment is not valid because you used the name "poop"! Really? Next time you want to make a hair suggestion try signing your name as Ken Paves or Tabatha Coffey!
