It started with a doubleheader GNO Friday. My friend Kendall and I went to the traveling Broadway production of Annie. As a side note I cried twice during the show.. What is it about being a mom that makes you unable to process the thought that any child is an orphan?? I am an emotional mess!
After Annie we met up with a group of girls to go see the 11:00 showing of 17 again. We are a bunch of cradle-robbers - but after you see that movie I think you might understand why. I mean COME ON the car scene? The whole time I was begging Zac Efron NOT to turn back into Matthew Perry. Think I can talk Trent into a leather bomber jacket and aviators?
I signed up for a soccer team and Saturday morning was our first game. It was my first outdoor, regulation-field full-out game in 5 years! And it was incredible. I was running around the field and I teared up because it was a Saturday morning and I had just laced up my cleats. It sounds ridiculous but I feel like typing what a blessing, because that is what it was. We lost, but I feel it was a moral victory because I played 80 minutes of soccer without passing out or dropping dead. I really appreciate Trent for supporting me when I feel like I need to do these things. He was so great to bring Lucy and break out the camping chair and watch me play. I had my own personal cheering section and it was perfect.Later that day we hit up one of the many fantastic parks in Columbus to have a BBQ with some friends. What is it about the spring weather that suddenly turns me into such a cheese ball that loves every minute of life? Its supposed to rain tomorrow so I know it can't last. That Vitamin D is some strong stuff. If Trent is smart we will apply for residency programs somewhere warm - think of the possibilities if I could be this nice year round.
P.S. The nursery countdown IS ON! Only 1 more week until Lucy is legal!
P.P.S. If you don't understand the heading on this post. Do yourself a huge favor and rent How I Met your Mother on DVD. What I'm about to say may shock you - its funnier than the Office.
